Testimonials

Anne

"In May 2019, I attended the training for visually impaired youth on ICT conducted by Rwanda Assistive Technology Access (RATA). After the training, I was able to use a smartphone creating tables in Microsoft word, sending an email and even browsing on the internet which boosted my confidence of competing at the workplace after finishing my university studies."

Anne, 27, is a visually impaired young girl who will finish her university studies this year.

Bosco

“ I am the vice president of RATA, Assistive Technology (AT) is still an unknown thing in our country and as a person with disability, it’s really not easy to cope with life without AT. I am among few persons with disabilities in Rwanda who got a chance to use some of the ATs like braille, screen reader which help me to attend the school, complete my studies and it opened me to different opportunities including getting a job which also proved me that disability is not inability. I am ready to help other persons with disabilities to have access to them.”
